Amazing night at my book launch!

What does it mean to truly hold onto yourself when the world around you falls away?

25th March 2025

Totally overwhelmed by the response to my book launch tonight!

Love Kerry Lewis-Stevenson's review:

"Tonight, I had the privilege of attending the launch of Mandy Legg’s book ‘Hold Onto Yourself’ at Milton Keynes College. What unfolded wasn’t just a book launch — it was a masterclass in courage, connection, and the raw honesty of what it means to lose yourself… and then fight to find your way back.

Interviewed by the ever-brilliant Ife Thomas and joined by Debbie Lewis, Mandy shared her journey through the unspoken: being sectioned, feeling invisible, and navigating a reality where her name didn’t even appear above her hospital bed.

But from that despair came something remarkable.

Armed with a camera, Mandy began to capture fragments of beauty within the hospital grounds — cherry blossoms, quiet corridors, faces full of stories. These photos, once lifelines, became exhibitions. Proof. Proof that she had not been lost to chaos. Proof that art, story, and self-expression can light the way home.

We laughed, cried, and listened in stillness as she reminded us: “Sometimes all you need is one kind word, one moment of human connection.”

Mandy’s story is a testament to what happens when you own your narrative — when you transform pain into purpose and speak from the scar, not the wound.

Congratulations, Mandy. You’re changing lives simply by telling the truth."
