Just spent an incredible 2 days speaking at NHS Lincolnshire Partnership Mental Health, Autism, Dementia and Learning Disability Support Workers Conferences in North Kyme.
3rd July 2025
From hospital wards to community settings, these unsung heroes are often the glue holding teams together, showing up with compassion, resilience, and care every single day. This conference was about recognising that, and I was so proud to be a part of it.
I shared my own journey through mental illness and recovery, highlighting the power of small acts of kindness from staff that made a life changing difference.
It felt even more meaningful in a room filled with people who give that same care to others every day.
And I wasn’t alone on stage. The speaker line-up was amazing:
Jamie McDonald (aka Adventureman) Motivational speaker, endurance record-breaker and superhero in every sense. From overcoming a debilitating childhood illness to cycling 14,000 miles from Bangkok to his hometown of Gloucester and running solo across Canada, Jamie brought raw emotion, laughter, and a huge amount resilience. His message? We’re all capable of more than we believe.
Keir Harding A powerful voice in mental health reform and CEO of Beam Consultancy. He was joined by Hollie Berrigan Consultant Lived Experience Practitioner. They explored relationship building with patients and clients.
The energy in the room was incredible. There was laughter, tears, dancing, and most importantly connection. I found a new ‘family’ in Lincolnshire.
To every support worker: your work is seen, your impact is profound, and your care makes the NHS what it is.
Thank you Liana, Gareth Elwick and Martina Clark for inviting me! 🙏🏻
